The Fire Extinguisher that best suits your needs!

The Fire extinguisher was designed to help protect you and your property from the spread of Fire. It was invented by chemist Ambrose Godfrey in 1723. Since then, Many different types of Extinguishers have been developed for the specific applications that may require them. Let take a look at the different types of Extinguishers!

Water Based Fire Extinguisher: Water fire extinguishers fight fires by extinguishing heat from the fire. Water based extinguishers are used in Class A Fires.

Dry Chemical Fire Extinguisher: Dry Chemical Extinguishers are designed to extinguish the fire by disrupting the chemical reaction in the fire. Dry Chemical Extinguishers are primarily used in Class A,B,C Fires.

CO2 Fire Extinguishers: CO2 Extinguishers are designed to take away the oxygen from the Fire. Without oxygen in the fire, it will no longer be flammable thus, being extinguished. These are often used in Class B and C Fires.

Fire extinguishers classified by type: What the fire extinguishers are used for:
Class A fire extinguisher These extinguishers are used for fires involving ordinary combustibles, such as wood, paper, cloth, trash and plastics.
Class B fire extinguisher These extinguishers are used for fires involving flammable liquids, such as grease, gasoline and oil.
Class C fire extinguisher These extinguishers are used for fires involving electrical equipment, such as motors, transformers and appliances.
Class D fire extinguisher These extinguishers are used for fires involving combustible metals, such as potassium, sodium, aluminum and magnesium.
Class K fire extinguisher These extinguishers are used for fires involving cooking oils and greases, such as animal and vegetable fats.
